Footing Needed By Neuroscience Research Is Solidifying

Geoff Gill, President of Shimmer Americas, recently sat down with Bob Lederer on the RBDR podcast to discuss the moves being made towards the standardization of critical neuroscience research elements.

The first move discussed during the episode was by the Neuromarketing Science and Business Association (NMSBA). The NMSBA recently introduced a certificate program, Neuromarketing Fundamentals, which will start to standardize how the industry views, analyzes and discusses different neuromarketing measures.

Additionally, a de facto standard is emerging around the analysis of biometrics. The algorithm that is used to calculate the metrics built into Shimmer’s NeuroLynQ platform is being used more and more in neuromarketing studies by large market research firms like Ipsos and GfK. Moreover, media companies like NBC are using algorithms very similar to the NeuroLynQ algorithm, which is bringing us closer to industry algorithm standardization.
