Key Metrics derived from NeuroLynQ
Three Levels of Response: None, Some, or High
Skin Conductance Heart Rate and Inflection Point
NeuroLynQ metrics can be calculated in a real-time setup. Metrics are also calculated based on a five (5) second window allowing for near real-time output. Now moderators can identify spikes in interest of the audience or participants removing the need for self-reports.
Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) All skin conductance responses are dependent on the slope of the values within a time window. When the slope is a Positive Slope there are two thresholds:
Some response is calculated above 0% in 5 second window
High response is calculated above 2% in 5 second window.
Inflection Point, which is based on the slope aswell is noted as a 1% percent positive deviation from trend line in 5 second window. It identifies the points of a curve at which a change in the direction of curvature occurs.
HRV: Heart Rate Variability plays an important role for identifying the attention level of participants. NeuroLynQ estimates HRV based on the estimated Breath Cycle (EBC). This is the difference between the max and the min Inter Beat Intervil. If HRV is close to zero or above a certian threshold, it is classed as a response to a Stimuli. Since the variation of HR is dependent on the individual, an adaptave thresholding approach is implemented similar to that in the skin response metric.
NeuroLynQ captures three levels of response from all users. The emotional responses are coded based on the derived skin conductance and Heart Rate Variability responses. These cane be categorised below
None: No GSR or HRV detected
High: High GSR slope or Inflection and HRV detected
Some: GSR detected but no HRV
